I already posted this video on Facebook, but in case you didn't see- we had a tornado that touched down about a mile away from our apt. I was out job hunting and Tyler was at the house with Bear and his friend Jared. You can hear Tyler talking to me on the phone while he was video taping. I was driving on the freeway when the alarms were sounding. I was closer to where the tornado was and I pulled off the freeway and pulled in to the closest store (which happened to be petsmart) and ran in side. I could barely get my car door open because the wind was so strong. The store manager said for every one to follow him to the employee break room because the tornado was headed our way. I was really scared. there were no windows (thankfully) and I couldn't get very good cell phone reception. The sounds from inside the store sounded like everything was being demolished outside. At that point I sent a text to my mom and Lei, asking why did I decide to live in Texas again??? I was stuck there for about an hour and then when I was going home- there were trees that had been split in half big pieces of metal all over from bldg's and roofs. What usually is about a 10 min drive- took me 45 min to get home. I drove by a big rig truck on the freeway that had been flipped over. It was crazy! Then, when I finally got home- everything looked fine in our parkinglot except for, oh wait, the tree that came out of nowhere and laded on our neighbor's car! I wish I had a picture! Anyways, I am thankful we are ok and I would take earthquakes anyday over tornado's!
Poor Little Bear! After the tornado passed- there were thunder and lightning storms like crazy all night and all the next day. Poor liitle guy would not go outside to go potty and was shaking alot of the time. I think he wished he had red ruby slippers he could click together to go back to Cali!

Luana & Ben were our first visitors in our new home. The just moved to Florida to work at Walt Disney World. On their way from Utah, they stopped in at our house for a couple of days and we had a lot of fun! I wish I could go work with them for a while! While they were here- we saw Star Trek! I actually loved that movie! I didn't think it was my thing before we went. :) We had such a nice visit and I am so glad they could come!!! I miss you Du!
I am sure most of you know that we live in Texas now and we are so excited that Tyler gets to attend Parker Chiropractic School. He started in January and he is in his second semester now...only eight more semester's to go. Ha! For the first few months, I was traveling to California most of the time to finish up work at the dental office with my Dad. It was soooo hard to be away from Tyler that long!!!! Luckily, I have the best husband ever! He is always so supportive with whatever I do! I also have the best Dad too- for giving me a job and teaching me so much!
Tyler came to california in between semester's for a little break and we drove back together with our dog "Bear" in our new car! We really needed a new car- no air conditioning in our good ole 1996 Honda accord.
So I have been back in Texas since May and looking for a job. It has not been easy! My dream job was to work for one of the airlines so I could fly anytime I want but they are not hiring. :( So, I tried just about every Marriott around here and everything else under the sun and they all told me that they are not hiring. I was getting so discouraged, I finally gave in and applied for a cashier position at Pet Smart. They called me and said they wanted to consider me for a management position at the Pet Hotel. I was so excited but a little scared because I did not know what to expect. I mean, I have lots of hotel experience, but not with these type of guests..hehe. I went in for the interview and it is the cutest place ever! The lobby even smells like sugar cookies! I was also worried that I was gonna have to pick up dog poop all day. But, I don't have to- YEAH! I just have to check up on the people that are in charge of cleaning up and I get to check "guests" in to the hotel and play with dogs so they don't get lonely. I can even bring Bear to work with me! I am really excited! here is a link to see kinda what it looks like: http://petshotel.petsmart.com/tour/index.shtml
Besides work, Tyler is doing well in school and at church we both get to teach in primary. Tyler teaches the 11yr old class and I get to teach the 4-5yr olds. It can be a challenge but I love it! We have so many nice people in our ward. They have all been so welcoming and I feel very comfortable here! Here are a few pics of life here in Texas....
This is the entrance to our Apartment Building. Thanks to
Preston and Nicole-

I took these pictures off the apt. web site- I will post my own with pictures of the inside of our Apt when I get it decorated. :)
OK, so I started this blog last year and I always say I am gonna get around to it but I get frustrated because I could not figure out how to do it very well. Our little puppy
Last year I got one of the best birthday presents I have ever recieved...... my cute little puppy "Bear". Tyler had always told me that if we were ever to get a dog, it would be a big outside dog. He, he! I got my way and we have cute little Bear that weighs only nine pounds. Now that we have him, Tyler loves him! Tyler sometimes spends more time with Bear than I do! ( He doesn't like to admit it) ;) He is my cute little teddy bear and I love him so much! I always thought dog lovers who thought their dogs were a part of their family were crazy but now I am one of them!
